AUREA jury members sharing insights on the future of entertainment at AWE Munich

The Augmented World ExpoTM – AWE for short – is the world’s largest conference and expo for professionals. The event, considered "The Most Essential AR/VR Conference and Expo" by Forbes will not only be focused on technologies such as Augmented Reality, Wearable Computing, Smart Glasses, Gesture and Sensors devices, and The Internet of Things but deal with decisive ideas and business opportunities as well.

On October 18th, AUREA will be on stage with a panel by AUREA jury members Emily Olman, Thomas Wagner and Frédéric Lecompte. “Moving the Needle Towards XR Mass-Adoption with Location-Based VR“ is about theme parks, malls and retail spaces using the power of XR to enhance their locations for immersive experiences in order to unlock new streams of revenue. Among hundreds of speakers from the world’s biggest brands, AUREA jury members will share their insights on Location-based entertainment. Thomas Wagner, Founder and CEO of VR Coaster – the worldwide leading company for Virtual Reality experiences on ride attractions – will talk about Europapark´s efforts in reimagining the site as a destination for immersive VR entertainment. Germany’s largest theme park is introducing free-roam and roller-coaster VR thus offering a completely new experience to its visitors – an initiative which will revolutionize the common understanding of location-based entertainment. With projects ranging from dynamic rides to high end hyper reality contents like Eclipse, France’s first 4D multiplayer hyper-reality game, Frédéric Lecompte, Founder and CEO of Backlight, is among the pioneers in modern LBVR,. Frédéric will report on their portable LBE experience and present key takeaways for anyone interested in the future chances of LBE VR. The panel is completed by AUREA 2018 jury member Emily Olman, CEO and Co-Founder of Spatial First, who will moderate the upcoming AUREA Award 2020. The three panelists will deep-dive into lessons learned and best practices from Europe's leading LBE companies, and present key takeaways for anyone watching the explosive growth of LBE VR over the past few years. Moreover, the AWE panel is preparing the soil for the upcoming AUREA Award 2020: Established in 2018, the competition will again bring together global technology and entertainment leaders to honor the best products and experiences.
